Doing Our Bit For The Environment & Community

Reuse

We recently donated old stock to St Vincent’s Centre in Leeds as Leona Connelly who works in our Wetherby Showroom has connections with the charity.

Here is a little about what St Vincent’s do: We have a wide range of services under one roof, so we can help each person in ways tailored to meet their specific needs. Our professional team help people who are struggling financially, without employment, education, social networks and community support, in a judgement-free way to help them build a brighter future.

Please see below the lovely message we received from them:

We received your incredibly generous and kind donation, via Ros Ives, this week. We rarely receive goods of this quality, and they created much excitement amongst the staff. But more importantly, mean we can reinvest money from their resale into the centres work.

Our donations ready to go to SVP!

Recycle

As a business, we are forever conscious of our impact on the environment. That is why we always recycle unwanted samples and also donate our fabric books to schools and colleges in the local area so that design students can make use of these.

Suppliers are developing and we are always keen to work with like minded businesses who want to invest in the future of our planet.

Plastic Free

Within our showrooms, we are choosing sustainable alternatives. We have recently partnered with Grind who supply us with the planets most sustainable coffee pod, which is completely compostable and plastic-free. These will be served to our customers and staff and do not contain any aluminum which is damaging to the environment because of the huge amount of earths resources it requires to produce this material.

Charity Work

Recently, we have partnered with Paperworks who are based in Leeds and are a non-for-profit company allowing people with learning disabilities a chance to gain skills to be able to work in vocational areas in the workplace. These people learn skills and undertake jobs such as packing orders, stock taking and mailouts.

Paperworks also arrange business paper shredding services and collections, so when we need them we give them a call and they do the work for us. Trainees learn and progress during this process whilst also destroying our business waste which then gets recycled into new paper products.

Thank you for supporting us on our quest to do more for the future generations & our community!
